This is our urge to you of establishment of Letter of Credit.
Please open an irrevocable letter of credit at sight on and before April xx, 20xx since we have agreed in the contract No.XXX that a Letter of Credit is to be opened within 5 days after receipt of the advice that the goods are ready for shipment.
After all, failing to open this letter of credit on time, we have the right to rescind this contract and may claim for relevant damage against you.
For the purpose of increasing of efficiency as well as saving cost, you are advised to send us the letter of credit application for checking before sending to the Issue Bank.

什麼是催證？催證是指賣方通知或催促國外買方按照合同規定迅速通過開證銀行開出信用證，以便賣方能按時交貨。在實際業務中，由種種原因買方不按合同規定及時開證的情況時有發生，這就需要賣方及時予以催促。在開證銀行開出信用證後．買方才能要求賣方履行其交貨義務，所以，買方按時開立信用證是賣方履行合同的前提條件。如果買方未按合同規定申請開立信用證，一般的處理方法是發函指出其違約行為，催促立即開證或展延開證期限，要求再勿逾期。或提出其他相應措施，如適當調整數量、價格、裝運期等。但對一再拖延催而不復者，經過慎重考慮，可及時作出處理，或宣告撤約，或提出索賠。對逾期來證，多數是能通融接受的，但根據貨源供應等情況，也可以有條件地接受或不予接受，需要雙方協商。催證函範文
